TOPIC:  Lessons from Christian Entrepreneurs in a Post-Christian Europe

DESCRIPTION:  A Christian Entrepreneur is not allowed to hire just Christians? A Christian branch manager can only send “Seasons greetings” instead of “Christmas cards”? Europe was once the driving force behind Christendom and the birthplace of significant figures and movements which impacted the world.  Today, Europe is perceived as inexorably sliding into dechristianization and secularization.  Yet, in the midst of the unique European context, there are fervent centers of Christians having an impact in the marketplace. Timo will share lessons from his work with a wide network of Christian business and entrepreneurial leaders from throughout Europe and show ways how to deal with a post-Christian environment.

BIO: Timo Plutschinski leads the newly-formed Strategic Business Initiative of the World Evangelical Alliance (WEA), which represents 600 million Christians around the globe. Previously, he was President of Europartners, a network of 37 Christian movements for executives and business people in 31 European countries. He still serves on the board of the bi-annual Congress of Christian Leaders in Germany which attracts up to 3,000 participants. Timo is also a fellow at the Olivet Institute for Global Strategic Studies and partner of MIC Corporate Finances which provides, inter alia, a global M&A platform. Timo lives with his wife and two daughters in Hamburg and in 2012 he has published the book "Office with a Purpose - Faith in Daily Business Life." He is fluent in both German and English and will be delivering his presentation in English.
