DESCRIPTION:  For over six years Karl has been doing weekly interviews of entrepreneurial billionaires and corporate titans for The Globe and Mail, Canada’s National Newspaper. He has also been doing the weekly Rethinking Leadership blog for Forbes Magazine for over two years where his thoughts on leadership have received hundreds of thousands of views.  Dr. Moore will assess the perspectives on meaning at work of the many leaders he has interviewed.

BIO:  Karl Moore, Ph.D. has been ranked among the top twenty management thinkers in the world.  He is renowned for his engaging presentations.  He brings together theory and practice:  he is widely respected as for his academic research and writings and he is equally comfortable hobnobbing with CEOs and high profile entrepreneurs running billion-dollar companies.  Karl is Associate Professor, Desautels Faculty of Management & Associate Professor, Dept. of Neurology & Neurosurgery, Faculty of Medicine McGill University.  He is also an Associate Fellow, Green Templeton College, Oxford University.

After completing his MBA at the University of Southern California and Ph.D. at the Schulich School, York University, Karl worked for eleven years in sales and marketing management positions in the high technology industry with IBM, and Hitachi.   Before McGill he taught at Oxford University for five years.  He came to McGill to work with Henry Mintzberg, they co-direct McGill’s Advanced Leadership Program.  Karl has won numerous teaching awards, including in 2002 he won the Faculty teaching award at the MBA level.  He has done extensive teaching at the McGill Faculty of Medicine including as a founder of the Leadership Development Program for leaders at the MUHC and McGill Medical.

He has taught extensively in leading executive education/MBA programs around the world including: Oxford, Cambridge, INSEAD, Cornell, Duke, LBS, Skolkovo (Moscow), RSM (Holland), Queens, McGill, IIM Bangalore (India), Renmin (Beijing), and Darden. An active consultant Dr. Moore has worked with Air Canada, British Airways, IATA, Lufthansa, Nokia, IBM, Volvo, HP, Motorola, Accenture, Morgan Stanley and other firms.  Dr. Moore's publications include over two hundred articles, books, chapters in books, and papers. His research has been published in a number of leading journals.
