“Q & A / Interview:  No Short Cuts to Success”

James Epp, Owner / CEO, Adventurer Group / Fraserway RV - James first started in the RV business as a teenager when his father Erdman purchased a camper manufacturing business in 1969, which came with five seasonal employees. His father wanted to build a business through strong ethics and customer satisfaction. Over almost 50 years, James and his entrepreneurial family grew this business into the largest RV company in Canada with nearly 800 employees today and 13 dealerships, plus an RV manufacturing company in Yakima, Washington.

Today, the Adventurer Group consists of:

  • Five different brands (Fraserway RV, Country RV, Four Seasons RV Rentals, Roadmaster RV and Travelhome RV) which make up 13 dealerships across Canada
  • A manufacturing plant which builds the Adventurer, Eagle Cap and Okanagan brands
  • A rentals division with 1,300 units on fleet with two brands and two purchasing points: Fraserway RV (new and 1-year-old units) and Four Seasons (2- to 4-year-old units)
  • Parts retail unit sales and wholesale distribution under the brand Specialty RV Products
  • The Adventurer Foundation

James’ energy and vision are contagious, and the company’s core values – employees, customers, integrity, respect, workplace, teamwork, recreation, innovation, community, social action and biblical principles – are all shaped by James’ faith. These values also reflect the Adventurer Group’s mission to, as a team, ensure their customers’ vacation dreams are realized. Each division actively lives out these values in its respective dealership and community, and help carry out James’ many philanthropic efforts.

James has been involved with the RV lifestyle for decades – travelling across Canada in an RV, spending time with his family, enjoying God’s beautiful creation and meeting wonderful people. He lives with his wife of 38 years, Vanessa, in Abbotsford. They have three sons – Michael, David and Timothy.
