People - Justin Currie with ELO Background

Justin Currie, CEO, Royalty North – Justin is Vancouver based entrepreneur currently serving as CEO of Royalty North Partners (  Royalty North is a public company providing non-dilutive capital to private business owners for growth, succession and acquisitions. Justin is also an owner of TVE Industrial Services Ltd. (, an industrial construction and maintenance contractor serving the mining, pulp & paper and energy sectors. He trained as Chartered Accountant and has over 20 years of progressive experience leading complex manufacturing and service businesses’ in both financial and operational roles. 

Previously he was the EVP and Chief Operating Officer of Cascade Aerospace, a $120M revenue, 700 employee aerospace services firm based in Abbotsford, BC. He successfully built the management team, helped secure over $400M in multi-year government contracts and facilitated a highly successful sale of Cascade to a strategic acquirer in late 2012. He is also committed to making a meaningful change in our local community and around the world and works actively with several not-for-profit organizations.

Justin is incredibly fortunate to be supported in his calling by his wife Marie.  Together they are the proud parents of three children aged 20, 17 and 12.

Ian Daniel, President and Founder, New Creation Consulting, and NCOL Ministries – Trained originally in electrical engineering, Ian formed New Creation Consulting ( in 1996, beginning with management consulting. Today, NCOL Internet develops world-class Internet solutions for medium and large enterprises throughout North America.  Ian is also President of NCOL Ministries ( – a Christian non-profit, dedicated to bringing business-class expertise to the non-profit sector. In just five years, NCOL Ministries has been recognized by senior denominational groups as Canada’s leader in the field of “IT ministry,” growing to serve over ninety churches, church camps and related Christian enterprises.  Ian’s entrepreneurial journey is included in Goossen, Ed., Entrepreneurial Leaders:   Reflections on Faith at Work (Vol. 5).

Richard (Rick) J. People - Jame Healy (E)

Jame Healy, Managing Partner, Applied Research & Consulting Services, Avantage ( - Jame is responsible for developing the Avantage Frameworks, Models and Methodology as well as the capabilities of the Avantage consulting services team and applying those capabilities successfully within client engagements. Trained originally in finance and economics, Jame has 20 years of experience supporting the development of key enterprise capabilities in support of business strategy. With his background in Enterprise Service Management, Integration and Automation within a number of key verticals and sectors Jame brings unique perspective to the Connected Business practice. Though Jame’s focus within the practice is principally on supply chain and trading partner integration, with a specific focus on electronic data/document interchange (EDI), he has been able to lead large-scale application integration initiatives brought on through merger and acquisition activities, large system implementation and legacy system modernization initiatives. Most recently, he has targeted efforts on helping organisations develop strategic business capabilities across people, process and practices that provide meaningful advantage for the enterprise in the marketplace.

Dave Koop is founding Senior Pastor along with his wife, Cheryl, of Coastal Church in downtown Vancouver.  Dave and Cheryl met attending bible college and they spent their early years pursuing further education, careers and raising a young family. Even though they were active in their local church and community outreaches, full time ministry wasn’t considered until they experienced the infilling of the Holy Spirit, followed by several divine moments where God confirmed His calling. Following much prayer, Dave left a successful career in the oil industry, and eventually, in an act of obedience, pioneered a new church plant in the core of downtown Vancouver, Canada in 1994 with their young family.  This call as a couple has enabled them to share the duties as Senior Pastors in this thriving city church and it’s campuses as well as contributing on other nonprofit organization boards. David completed his Doctorate in Ministry from Bakke Graduate University in 2010.  They are proud parents of 4 grown children, 3 in-laws and 2 beautiful grandsons.

People - Brad Malchuk (E)

Brad Malchuk, CEO, Fastik - Brad is a Langley-based entrepreneur in the packaging and printing industry. He was the fourth employee at Fastik ( and then later acquired it. Three times featured in Business In Vancouver Magazine’s “Fastest Growing Companies List”, Fastik now has about 40 staff and is undergoing a major growth curve as it expands into direct contact food packaging. Fastik introduced the first commercial single serve tea envelope to North America, and continues to innovate in the area of environmentally preferable packaging.  Fastik actively pursues social responsibility by striving “to strike a balance between taking care of our environment, and also, our fellow man, both locally, and in our global community.”   Fastik is committed to giving a minimum 10% of our net profits to charitable organizations both home and abroad.  Brad is a past board member of the Young Entrepreneurs Organization and is currently continuing his studies in leadership at Trinity Western University.

People - Ron Penner

Dr. Ron Penner- Ron is former President, Columbia Bible College, Abbotsford, BC and highly respected for his administrative and leadership skills. His self-description: "A good day is one when I have been able to help someone gain traction on a part of their life or a group make progress toward its goals. Places I’ve been able to pursue the above…marriage and family counseling, youth work, teaching, educational administration, and NPO board work. Fortunate to be married to my best friend, Linda for over 45 years and now with time to enjoy more activities with her like golf, motorcycle touring, and travel. Have spent a ton on tuition and books and learned a lot – still think a great evening out includes a stop at Chapters! A few favorite authors: CS Lewis, Jim Collins, Patrick Lencioni.A bad day is one without chunky peanut butter!" Ron's reason for volunteering with ELO: "I believe fostering entrepreneurial leadership is one of the very important things we can do to help develop our world, both in the business and ministry worlds. I believe the cause Rick is pursuing is a good one and am pleased to support it."




People - Terry Smith (E)

Terry Smith, Chairman of the Board, Smith Gardens, Bellingham, WA ( – Smith Gardens is the producer of Northwest Grown garden products, and has been a family-owned and operated business for over 100 years.  The business now has 4 locations and employs over 600 workers in peak season; its products are available through leading retailers such as Costco, Walmart and Home Depot.  Terry was President of Smith Gardens for many years and engineered a significant expansion phase, before successfully transitioning management of the business to two of his sons.  Terry believes in God-given DNA:  divine gift, natural gifts  and acquired gifts.

Dr. George So, General Manager and Senior Consultant, Construction Board, Dupont China Limited,-George So, B.Sc., M.Sc., MBA PhD(Hon), KCSJ, is General Manager and Global Director of Sales of DuPont Apollo Limited. In 1997, George joined DuPont China Limited as Area Manager, engineering polymers and eventually moved to a General Manager position to oversee the Engineering Polymers Business in Greater China. He has been active in community service and Christian service activities throughout China. His educational roots are in Canada (3 degrees from University of Saskatchewan), his home is in Hong Kong and his desire is to have Christianity dramatically impact China's leadership.

People - Paul Stevens (E)

R. Paul Stevens, Professor Emeritus, Marketplace Theology, Regent College- Paul Stevens is a leading practical theologian and educator in the evangelical world with respect to empowering Christians to pursue their calling in the marketplace. He has long been associated with Regent College ( and has lectured throughout the world.  His mission is to empower ordinary people to integrate their faith and life from Monday to Sunday. He is the author of Doing God's Business: Meaning and Motivation for the Marketplace.  Some of Paul’s other publications include:  Work Matters:  A Biblical Perspective on Labour (forthcoming, available in PDF format)  The Other Six Days: Vocation, Work and Ministry in Biblical Perspective (Eerdmans, translated into Korean); The Complete Book of Everyday Christianity (with Robert Banks, IVP); and Liberating the Laity (IVP/Regent Publishing, , Translated into Korean, Portuguese, and Chinese).

Bernie Thiessen, Independent Real Estate  Agent, Homelife Glenayre Realty- Bernie previously worked with Radio Shack for almost 20 years. He was a District Manager for Atlantic Canada and then later for Southern Alberta. He then became involved in real estate. He has been an agent with Homelife since 1989 and has a parallel developed a property portfolio through Thiessen Real Estate Ventures. He has been  Chair of the Chilliwack Commercial Realtors Association. He has served as Chairman of the Greendale First Mennonite Church and also on the board of Camp Squeah.

Gord Wiebe, Chief Executive Officer, All Weather Windows- Gord has been with the company since its inception in 1978, beginning as Sales Manager and eventually becoming both CEO and Principal Partner. All Weather is dedicated to designing and manufacturing Canada's widest selection of quality window and door products using the latest state-of-the-art technology. They currently have two highly automated manufacturing plants and nine branches across Canada. The company is one of Canada's largest privately owned window and door manufacturer, with approximately 1,200 employees. All Weather has been the proud recipient of Canada's 50 Best Managed awards for the past 5 years running and received Canada's 50 Best Engaged Award for 2012. All branched are heavily involved in their community and charity events. All Weather was the national sponsor the Salvation Army Santa Shuffle which was a 3 year commitment and where the company took part across Canada in the Santa Shuffle Race. The company helped raise $700,000 in the three years of its involvement. Ray Yenkana is a well-known and highly-respected realtor in BC’s Fraser Valley (see  He is the owner and operator of ReMax Little Oak Realty with offices in Abbotsford, Langley and Surrey.  Ray has extensive experience in training and mentoring realtors.  Ray started his real estate career managing commercial real estate and helping investors with their investment properties and portfolios.  Ray has been helping investors buy and sell investment real estate since 1985. As a commercial realtor he has earned the C.C.I.M. designation, which has helped his clients in aquiring, holding and disposing of their investment property in a timely manner.  Ray is a very specialized realtor, working throughout the province of British Columbia (BC) and Alberta. Ray is located in Abbotsford BC, but does commercial real estate sales throughout the province. Some areas that he has dealt with in the past are Fort St John, Terrace, Cranbrook and Vancouver. Distance does not stop Ray from providing his skilled, professional service for commercial real estate clients.  He has previously worked with Brian Stiller at Youth for Christ in Toronto, he is a member of Northview Church in Abbotsford, BC.
